چکیده
Abstract Years of globalization, outsourcing and cost cutting have increased supply chain vulnerability calling for more effective risk mitigation strategies. In our research, we analyze disruptions in a production setting. Using bilevel optimization framework, minimize the total manufacturer interested finding optimal disruption The problem constitutes convex network flow program under chance constraint bounding manufacturer’s regrets disrupted scenarios. Thus, contrast to standard schemes with two decision-makers, leader follower, model searches plan view reduction sequence his own scenario-specific regrets. Defined as difference costs reactive , which considers unknown until it occurs, benchmark anticipative predicts beginning planning horizon, allow measurement impact strategies on cost. For an efficient solution problem, employ generalized Benders decomposition develop customized feasibility cuts. managerial section, discuss implications risk-adjusted observe that long are reduced strategy at shorter disruptions, whose typically stay far below threshold. This allows decrease rare but high-impact

متن کاملModeling Economic Consequences of Supply Chain Disruptions
Supply chains often experience significant economic disruptions, as in the case of facility breakdowns, transportation mishaps, natural calamities, and terrorist attacks. We collaborated in a study of such disruptive events as part of an initiative by Sandia National Laboratories. We conducted case studies of three electronics firms and their suppliers to explore underlying aspects of the suppl...
متن کاملDisruptions in Information Flow: A Revenue Costing Supply Chain Dilemma
The integration of supply chains as a mechanism for value creation is largely dependent on continuous flow of real time accurate information from the customer back upstream to the manufacturer. This ideal is often unachievable when disruptions in the flow of information and materials are known to regularly occur in some manufacturing supply chains. This paper focuses on quantifying the potentia...
متن کاملManaging Supply Chain Disruptions
Given the substantive negative financial, marketing, and operationsrelated consequences of supply chain disruptions, it is not surprising that most organizations are expending significant efforts to develop effective disruption management strategies. Further, the focus on lowcost (and lean) supply chains to control costs has also resulted in magnifying the impact of even a small disruption at a...
متن کاملModeling of Partial Digest Problem as a Network flows problem
Restriction Site Mapping is one of the interesting tasks in Computational Biology. A DNA strand can be thought of as a string on the letters A, T, C, and G. When a particular restriction enzyme is added to a DNA solution, the DNA is cut at particular restriction sites. The goal of the restriction site mapping is to determine the location of every site for a given enzyme. In partial digest metho...
